Flat Fee Moving

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. This is the most unprofessional and dishonest company that I have ever delt with. I felt like they did absolutely nothing to make the customer happy and leave with a positive experience. Their estimate is a completely random number and you will be paying at least $200 more than the price they give you. For a company called flat fee company, get ready for many hidden costs like $3 a roll of tape (they will use at least 15 rolls) and 3% for using credit card, ad well as tolls, gas and much more.

The movers were very rude and when asked to move a couch down 6 flights, one of them actually started to complain and threatened me that he would take 40 minutes to walk it down. A mover complaining about moving?

The manager/owner was extremely rude after trying to work it out after they took 2 hours over the expected time from the estimate. They told me that if I wasn't going to pay for the extra two hours now (before unloading the truck) I would have to call the police to get my furniture back! This is not okay. I was seconds away from calling the police.
Also they left my couch sitting on my sidewalk as well just because the time was up and they had to go to their next job.

This experience was the biggest headache, and moving is stressful enough. Stay away from this company!! They are dishonest and very rude and you will be very upset to find out your "flat fee" move will cost you way more than you thought. They pride themselves on "integrity", don't expect to see any of that with these movers.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $750

The actual movers were great, pleasant and professional. The demands made by the owner of the business because we were putting the moving charges on a credit card that was not in person were unbelievable.  In this day and time where most of commerce is transacted through credit cards the hoops that we were forced to go through were so intensive that it would have been laughable if not under such stressful conditions.
Though I had all the credit card information as the recepient of the payor's items ( the payors being 75 plus year old parents with no tecnological skills and recently moved into an assisted living facility, ergo - the reason for this move) and was prepared to use their credit card as they had requested, the owner made the moving supervisor insist and obtain the following: 1) Photograph the front and back of the credit card being used, send by email to my address so I could then download and print and hand to the movers. 2) A person to person phone call from the mover's phone to the card holder to authorize the credit cards usage. 3) A photograph front and back of my drivers license as recepient taken by the movers and stored in the phone of the moving supervisor. 4) A handwritten signed statement by the payors- aging parents, that I had to read off as they wrote it down that I was authorized to act as the card holder and no disputes would be made against the company, then photgraphed and emailed to me so I could print and hand to the movers. 5) A photograph taken of a photo ID ( neither of whom driver any longer) of the card holder emailed to me so I could print and hand to the movers.
I understand businesses protecting themselves but what should have been a 15 min process at best took 1.5 hours because the company is conducting business like it is 25 years ago when credit cards could not be instantly authorized and confirmed. I would not recommend this business to anyone for the sole reason that the owner did little to work with us over what I consider a minor issue of authorization and in going way overboard in his insistant demands will likely lose business as a result. They are definitely not worth the hassle no matter what they quote you.

This company was dishonest from the start my. orignall quote was $38200.00 After the packing I was charged an additional 1528.00. When the furniture was finaly delivered the driver informed us that he could not get the truck down our street and charged me an additional $750.00 to transfer my furniture to a smaller U-Haul truck. I have missing items and damaged items. The day after the driver tokd me that he could not get the truck in, I have pictures of a 18 wheeler on my street. When the company was notified of this they changed there story and said that the community would not let the truck in. I now have a letter from the builders stating that this is not true. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I wasn't planning to move but an unexpected situation force me to, and I needed a mover almost immediately. I submitted my information online and without even knowing my email got full with emails and 100 phone calls. After the thrid phone call I just decided not to answer any more. I ask the super in my building and he referred me a Flat Fee Moving. From the first phone call I knew that this  Lizzie sounded different than others. They didn't try to get my business, she was there to help. Talking to some of the other movers people I realize that they were "pushi" and just  wanted my credit card.   The sales rep was very informative and very patience, since I never moved before I believe all what I was told, she emailed me some links and educated me about the moving industry.Also, she emailed me references and much more information to help me make my decision easier.   "Not everything that shines is Gold" many moving companies will offer you many things to get your business once the credit card is charge all those things that they promised you cost extra money.   Flat Fee Moving was there all the way from the day of the move till my goods were deliver, the price was affordable and they have the best customer Service. I will highly recommend them.        .

I want to recommend Flat fee Moving to all of the people that are looking for a great company.
 from the first phone call till the last item was delivery they were prompt, courteous and most important there price never changed.
My move was pretty big but still in a tight budget, since I spoke the lady in the office Lizzie, she took the time to explain everything and she told me the price is final.
The crew was very accommodating and even they use some packing materials without charging me for it. I have heard so many stories about how movers work that once they show up the price goes double or triple that when the person in charge showed me the bill (same $$ as the price I was quote from the office) I was so happy that I wanted to hug him.
Everything was very professional, they really went out of their way to make me happy, I will recommend them without any doubt, it's very hard to find honest movers those day.

We recently contacted Flat Fee Moving for a move from West New York to Dumont.  Our situation forced us to get a mover last minute and have our furniture/boxes picked up/dropped off at our new residence the following day.  I got in touch with Lizzie at Flatfee, she provided us with a quote.  They had the day already booked but she genuinely felt bad for our situation and made a few calls.  She was able to get the movers to pick up our stuff the following morning and drop it off to our new place after their prior job was complete.  These men worked very quickly and carefully and all our items were delivered in perfect condition.  I couldn't have been any happier with how they handled everything.  Absolutely professional and they work with you and your needs.  I recommend them to everyone.

Contacted several moving companies. Freddie was great. I had many last minute changes. My storage place wasn't open the day they said it would be. He kept the same dates because I didn't want to take time off from my new job. Instead he made the move over two days. The costs for additional stops were reasonable. He was always flexible and asked for me to explain the situation instead of thinking of solutions. Since he would understand the solutions much better. He was creative and effective. He would explain the difference in pricing between others and his own service. He adjusted prices because most of my things were already packed.

The day of the move. The movers were late but prompt in letting me know. They were friendly and thorough. My things were mostly already packed so there wasn't much for them to do. They did assemble a couch with a fold out bed. They were great.

Service cost: $900

I was very nervous about this move. I was putting a lot of stuff in storage, including extremely fragile furniture my father had made that is irreplaceable. Well, not only was the team incredibly careful with wrapping, carrying, stacking, etc., they were nice, did the job very quickly. Completely white glove service from beginning to end. Everyone in the office was terrific and the price was great. They were honest, their estimate was right on the money and I went from being nervous to feeling completely at ease because I knew I was in great hands. You can't put a price on that. Thank you, Flat Fee! Best move of my life. Highly highly recommend to anyone.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $800

The price was phenominal and the movers were on time and extremely helpful and courteous. The 4 gentlemen came in and worked fast and hard. My wife was hesitant to hire movers because she thought we could do it and thankfully I convinced her and she said once they got moving "this definitely was a smart move and worth every penny." She stayed and just pointed what to go and the. When they got to our destination it was double time speed and they finished right on time. I can't say enough about how great the crew was. I HIGHLY recommend these guys for a move.

From start to finish Flat Fee Movers were professional, courteous and prompt with all calls on moving related matters. on the first call they gave me quote based on the square footage of the storage facilities I had rented. They also assured me that the price was hard and fast and I was informed upfront that any fragile item that had to be repacked for safety reason would be additional. In the end they gave me the additional cost and agreed to reduce it by 50%. My contact Sebrina kept me informed at every step of the way. She also made arrangement for the transport my car with came down in two days effortless. The drivers and their assistants were friendly and courteous in both cases. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I recently relocated for work purposes to NYC. I submitted my information online and received maybe 15 different estimates from different moving companies.
I know competition is hard and everyone wants to have your business, I got low balls quotes from $170.
Once I contacted Flat Fee Moving, just randomly, I received an estimate for $560.00 including free wrapping, some tape and covers for my mattresses included, I told the lady it's too much. She did provide me with some information on how to check companies and how to make a wise decision, and to make sure all charges or extra charges are explained.
After the first research attempt like 7 companies had bad reviews, bad BBB rating. Going on with the list I realize that a reputable and honest company will charge me around that amount to move my 2 bedroom apartment, so I decided to call FLAT FEE MOVING.
 The movers were great, on time and patience. they What I was promise from the first call until they had left was deliver.
Well done! I will highly recommend those guys.

We were buying some furniture from a friend and needed it moved from her house to our house. We also needed a heavy piece of furniture in our house moved to the basement. We were given a two hour window for their arrival, one hour to move the items. Three men completed the move quickly and were very helpful. The pieces moved were fully wrapped in blankets and clean. They moved the heavy desk to the basement for us. Everyone was polite, professional and did their work in a professional manner.

As a previous reviewer stated, Flat Fee Moving, Elmwood Park, was dishonest from the start. I was told by the salesperson that by purchasing packing services with them, I would save on buying packing supplies - the company would provide all the boxes and tape needed for the move. That was a lie. I ended up paying their rates for the supplies. I was notified of the additional charges on the day of the move (I had already relocated from NJ and was in NV when I received the call) and had no alternative but to agree to pay the additional charges. I was also told that the moving truck could not fit in the alley behind the UHaul facility, where my storage unit was located (see photos of alley), and more charges would incur upon delivery. I refused to pay this company any more money. As a result, my things were dropped off on a public street downtown and I had to rent a UHaul truck and hire movers to transport my things from the street to my storage unit. In addition, I had asked the company to send me an invoice for the move multiply times, in which their response was, that they told me the amount over the phone. I would stay clear of this company. They are rude, unprofessional and will end up charging you a lot more than what was originally quoted (in my case, almost $1,000 More).

The gentleman who gave us the quote explained how this is a trustworthy company and spoke poorly of other companies. They claimed to not have any hidden fees. Unfortunately, that's not true. Their quote did not include all the fees they intended to charge. Once they picked up our stuff the quote changed. We were charged for two separate moves. They insisted on wrapping our already tapped and boxed items and charged us almost $4 per tape roll. They easily used at least a dozen rolls. Then they charged a 3% fee for using a credit card. The foreman assigned was condescending to me. When we called to speak to the manager it was of no help. He was not only rude, but slowed down his speech as if we did not have the mental capacity to understand him. We ended up paying close to a $1000 for a move for only one small bedroom without TV/Computer screen or any other fragile item. It was horrendous. I will never go with this company again and strongly recommend for people to do their research before you believe their company lie, ahem..slogan "Movers with integrity". Smh.

I would like to share my experience moving with Flat fee Moving in Elmwood Park NJ.
From the first moment that I got on the phone with Lizzie I knew I'm dealing with the right person, she answered all my questions in a very professional way that made me feel very comfortable as well we have set up a in-home estimate for my move .
Their estimator came to my house and went over all important details with me taking a thorough list and explained all the moving aspects.
They provided me with a great and honest price, was higher than others but after checking their Facebook with online videos from actual customers I decided to trust them.
It was the right call, they price was on point, all my items were in same good condition and the crew was courteous and polite
I have received all my item in great shape same as it was sent.
Anyone can put a review online and say anything they want (good or bad) I trusted their videos and my instinct and I couldn't be more happier .

We moved on July 10, 2018 from 1 bedroom apartment in Jersey City. It was a pleasant experience right from the beginning. Lizzie answered all our calls promptly and answered all our questions. A crew of 3 came on the day of moving and they were very efficient and polite. The final charges were only half an hour more than the initial quote but that was reasonable because the apartment building we were moving to took longer to provide details about the unloading dock. It was no surprise to me as they had explained the cost in their initial quote. It was a stress free move for us and we will use this company again for our next move.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $540

In short they stole my money! They quoted me $780 for 3 hrs. The appointment was at 4 PM we finished before 7:44 PM. The had me sign a bunch of paperwork before we started. All lines were blank, they filled them out later when we were moving stuff. They wrote “start at 3 PM, finish at 9 something PM” and gave me a copy that I put in my pocket right away (because we were busy moving stuff and didn't think anything of it). There was nothing to sign at the end of moving. I left a few minutes after we finished. I saw their vehicle leave their parking spot and made a turn. I checked my credit card a few days later, I charged me over $1400! I called them they said it took 6 hrs to complete the job. I said no it was from 4 to 7:44. Then they looked into it, they confirmed that the appointment was at 4 PM, but their vehicle left at 8:11 PM (they had a tracker in the vehicle). So, Danny refunded me about $198 after taking out a bunch of additional fees. According to their tracker they actually stayed (in the area?) until 8:11 and charged me according to their tracker, which is 4 hrs and a half (they charge an increment of half an hr after the first 3 hrs) . Thank God they didn't decide to stay until midnight or morning! They charged me half an hour extra, that's almost $100. Writing reviews is a waste of time, the time that I don't really have, but I just got robbed so I have to share my experience with Flat Fee Moving.

Move size: Commercial Move Service cost: $1240

You get what you pay for.… They gave a good price, but in the end with the damage they did, it will cost you more. They gave us an arrival time of between 7 AM and 8 AM and then called at 5:30 in the morning to say they would be there by 6:30 AM. Then while packing, they said they would have to charge a $45 Crate fee for a mirror, then wrapped the mirror in cardboard scraps, which protected it, but should not have been any additional cost. It was far from a crate. Then, when they arrived at the second house, they started to unload and immediately put a ding in one wall, and marks on the other… When I pointed it out, they asked for payment and refused to unload anymore until I paid. The supervisor on the job site called the owner of the company who started an argument on the phone with me which turned into a shouting match and continue to refuse to unload the truck unless they were paid first. Ultimately I paid them because that is how they have it written in their contract, so beware of that… After receiving the payment, they continued to unload the truck and put a large dent in another wall and scratched my banister on the stairs. The dings in the wall will require spackle and a repaint to repair… I would recommend you pay a little bit more and hire a professional company. This crew was obviously made up of laborers, and not skilled moving people.
